In the garden around my house we often find abandoned bird nests, sometimes with empty eggs. The tiny little traces of new life are vulnerable and enclosing. I love the form of the egg that looks like it was hugging, protecting something. The three layer nest–egg was then born from that idea.

私の家の庭には、母鳥に捨てられた鳥の巣がよく見られ、時には空の卵も見つかる。新しい生命の小さな小さな痕跡は傷つきやすく、空気を包み込んでいる。何かを守って抱きしめているような卵の形が好きであり、その発想から生まれたのが三層の巣卵だ。
